I originally became involved with NLP way back when I was a housebound agoraphobic.
I spent 5 years in a small (crappy) apartment living literally on the wrong side of the tracks in the city where I grew up (Montreal).
Nothing worked for me. I had 30 sessions of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which didn't work... well for me at least.
So in desperation I started to investigate anything I could get my hands on to get out of the crazy situation I found myself in. I read books, took cassette tape trainings (don't get me started) based on CBT, I did literally everything I could lay my hands on and nothing worked.
Then someone introduced me to this stuff called NLP and I was intrigued. I researched (as much as I could) and found a training centre in Ottawa, 180kms (110 miles) away. So I borrowed a car but had to have it delivered because I couldn't manage public transit, and I commuted daily to this weird training in some lady's basement in the Glebe section of Ottawa.
And... I got better. Miraculously. Everything was different but it took me time to realize how much had changed. Where nothing else had worked, this NLP stuff was magical!
Practitioner training really was magical and it transformed my life.
But I don't want to leave you with the impression that NLP is only to help people overcome agoraphobia. Almost every single person I've ever met has said some variation of, "Everyone should learn NLP...it should be taught in school!"
I have been training NLP since 2001 and I can't count how many people have had miraculous transformations both in trainings and in private coaching sessions.

Want to try out an original healing modality?
In 1998 a friend told me to try a new experience: She suggested I see an 'energy healer' saying "He'll amuse you..."
So I went.
I was shocked. I had a magical experience that I couldn't quantify except to say that for the following 3 weeks, every day I felt like a kid on the first day of summer vacation.
It took me years to understand what had happened, and even longer to decode what had happened when he put his hands on my shoulders, and then beside my ears as I lay on a massage table.
Yup...that's all he did.
For years, I sent my NLP students to him and even the most reluctant...the most skeptical reported they experienced 'something' and every single one felt better...most settled afterward. Some of the most skeptical went back again and again for more treatments.
In 2013 I asked him if I could model him. He responded, "If it helps people, yes..." So I spent the next several years interviewing him, digging into the conscious and unconscious things he did, watching him work, getting dozens of treatments, sponsoring workshops etc. I heard his his crazy healing stories and about his own healing journey, and kept asking questions. For years he joked that I kept asking the same questions and he kept giving the same answers, but each time he did give an answer, it was slightly different, revealing details he didn't realize were important...at least they were to me.
Before I started, I consulted a few 'big name' NLP experts who had modelled healers and they all cautioned against modelling people with 'unicorn' skills because they perceive things differently than the rest of us, and the sensory-based world of NLP doesn't often work well with that realm.
During the pandemic due to a series of coincidences and lucky breaks, I stumbled across a way to replicate his healing methodology - meaning I found a parallel way to achieve the same results without being a 'unicorn' like he is.
The book is complete and I am in the process patenting this methodology and will be releasing it later in 2024 but will teach it to this class of NLP students. So if your interest is in healing and NLP, this is probably a good time for you to take both.
